COME CHEER US ON ALONG THE ROUTE! \n\nOn August 8th\, Happiness Happens Day\, the OV Sea Hags will be taking our Unity Witch Walk from Norfolk to Portsmouth\, spreading kindness\, connection\, and a little happiness along the way. \n\nWe’d love to see some friendly faces along the route. If you’re downtown that day\, watch for the dancing witches\, wave hello\, snap a photo\, and help us cast joy along the waterfront. \n\nOur walk will begin at the Pagoda in Norfolk\, continue through Town Point Park and Waterside\, cross the Elizabeth River by ferry to Portsmouth and walk down High Street to the Bier Garden. \n\nJoin us from the sidelines as we celebrate Happiness Happens Day and continue our mission of casting joy like sea spray throughout Coastal Virginia.\nHappiness doesn’t just happen. Sometimes we create it. We hope to see you along our route as we celebrate happiness

Masquerade in Ghent will take place Friday\, October 23\, from 6:00-10:00pm in the heart of Ghent on Colley Avenue between Shirley Avenue and Brandon Avenue.\n\nThe parade starts at 6:30pm and judges will award cash prizes for “Best In Show\,” “Best Family or Group\,” and “Best Adult.” Prize packets will be awarded to “Best Pet Costume\,” “Best Child” (male & female ages 5-12)\, and “Best Infant (4 and under).”\n\nAfter the parade\, get ready for a monster mash with live music by Wonderland. Plus\, there will be activities for kids\, refreshments and adult beverages including beer\, cider\, seltzers\, and signature cocktails from Reverend Spirits.\n\nMasquerade in Ghent is free and open to the public. Join Coastal Virginia Paddlers for a hauntingly fun FREE event on Sunday October 25\, 2026 for the 3rd Annual Witches & Warlocks on the Water! You must provide your own gear and have a life preserver on your board to participate! \nA few OV SEA HAGS will be performing between 9 AM to 10 AM. This is an amazing event for an amazing charity! \n\nTO REGISTER : https://coastalvirginiapaddlers.com/event\n9:00 am: Arrive at Owl’s Creek Boat Launch. Sign in at the COVA Paddlers table.• Sign up for costume contest if you want.• Enjoy complimentary donuts and coffee while supplies last!• Our charity is Edmarc Children’s Hospice. Don’t forget to make a donation to Edmarc\, if so inclined. It is not required but would be appreciated. See our event page for ways to donate.\n9:30 am: Have your gear ready.\n9:50 am: Our volunteer judge will ask all participating in the costume contest to line up for a photo and group photo of all participating.\n10:00 am: Launch.• Have fun\, socialize and take lots of photos!
